Differential pH and ORP Sensors
Yokogawa's cation differential pH and ORP sensors are engineered for challenging applications where conventional sensors fail. These specialized sensors excel in diverse environments ranging from brine solutions to electrolysis processes and cheese manufacturing.
Common measurement challenges in these applications typically stem from reference cell issues, including:
  • High diffusion potentials at the reference junction
  • Elevated temperatures (common in chlorinated brine processes)
  • High ground-loop currents
Our differential sensors feature a sealed glass reference system with no liquid junction or process-exposed electrolyte. This innovative design eliminates diffusion potentials and fouling, ensuring stable measurements with minimal maintenance requirements.

The FU20-FTS represents Yokogawa's latest advancement in pH sensor technology, combining the precision of our 12mm differential sensor with the durability of our renowned FU20 wide-body design.
While Yokogawa utilizes proven silver/silver chloride reference cells for cost-effective performance across most applications, our differential technology provides superior longevity in demanding conditions. Conventional sensors require frequent maintenance to prevent reference poisoning, whereas differential sensors offer significant advantages in high-temperature, high-pressure industrial applications.
